Maggie, I would love to spend some time with you and have you show me how you make these stunning still life images. Your lighting is magical! This image, to me, has a touch of melancholy, I think it's the drooping flower heads and the twist of the vase. Beautiful work! fav

Maggie Terlecki replied:

Sweet Linda! Oh my Gosh, I think many of my flower images are moody as I don't like them to be standing like soldiers, I love them all sensual and curvy, hehe, Tulips have bendy stems, so if you don't put them in the bottom of your container and rest their bottom edges higher up in a diagonal to the edges of your pot, their heavy heads will give them that bow, that droop. As for lighting, it's quite basic, I like to backlight and use foam core boards as backgrounds and to direct the light. Although it would be nice to have fancy equipment, I don't. So I work with what I can afford. Making moody flower pictures are not big sellers, most people like really bright and very fun, and I like more sultry and moody. But I do sell a bit, I don't shoot to be rich, I do it because I love it and it has to reflect who I cam. I don't know if any of this helps you, I hope it can give you a look into how I work, or should I say, play! :-D By the way, the vase if 3D printed by my son, it is just thin plastic, but I love it! :-) Thank you so much, Your comment is actually a huge compliment to me. Much Love, Maggie
