Description
Rejection by Maggie Terlecki
Sometimes when I work doing my still life images, I get carried away with their shapes and how expressive they can be because of it. Here a tulip with a drooping head made me feel like it felt dejected and the other ones goes on its business without the empathy to see how hurt the other is.
It makes me think of human nature and how we humans often don't find time for others as we go about our merry ways. It fit the mood of the day. I had these beautiful tulips and the weather was dark and grey and then it started to rain, and rained on for most of the day and then finally turned into snow. Won't you give this sad little blossom something to hold its head up?

Exactly! That's exactly how they look and how this feels, as though they are dejected... & yet still lovely.
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Hi Monte! :-) Yes, things don't have to be full of joy and happy to be beautiful. I'm often trying to find emotion in my work, and am proud when I can achieve that!

Love the title for this and the idea for this gallery Maggie! Lovely work of art. FAVORITE for this gem! A fellow artist, https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-kim-hawley.html Michelle Reed had a heart operation this week and is back home today. She may have another operation soon and I wanted to help her. She needs easy to prepare heart-safe food. recipes. If you have that information, please drop her a note and some kind words for her gallery. Thank you.

Aww....great still Maggie ! Actually the splendor of the scene, how carefully and cleverly done makes me think that the one who is down, soon will lift his head too....the glass is certainly half full and not half empty here...it is one of your best stills for sure. The white tulip against the dark...the different glasses and water levels....it makes be take a deep bow for you as being one of the best still life photographers here on the net !! :)

Michel. Sorry for taking so long to respond, the activity queue did not show any comments for this image. Now, for your wild and wonderful comment... you are just too sweet. I think I'm just lucky that sometimes what's in my head actually comes out like it should and I got lucky this time! Thank you so much my friend. :-) Maggie
