Description
Ethereal Vortex by Maggie Terlecki
Although spring and summer has started just about everywhere in the world, here it is so going. It's still cold and morbid, although I see a few buds on the trees meaning that we will surely have some greenery soon. But as it goes, nothing is growing yet and although I'm tremendously busy working on conceiving and realizing books for a sculptor in my area, I still need to do some of my own work that I love. I can't seem to find anything to inspire me so I thought I'd do some smoke photography. It's a bit smelly using incense indoors when it's too cold to open a window somewhere to get rid of the smell, but I just couldn't stand not doing any photography. So expect to see more of these once I have a chance to process them.
I really liked this one, and oddly enough, it was today's first image. I was delighted with the ethereal swirl and the vortex it had created and thought it was the perfect name. I think it is pretty and makes for a very modern abstract. I also like that it is a very minute moment in time that can never be recaptured exactly like this. So fleeting yet so wonderful to capture. I hope you like it.
This is a limited edition print. Only 10 will be sold. This is copy 1 of 10 and will hold the authenticity certificate #1909001. All images that have the longest side over 16 inches will be included in the edition. If you purchase of of these images and would like me to send you a certificate, signed and numbered by me, I will be happy to do so if you can contact me here.

Ricky Barnard
I hope you're still creating these Maggie! They are unbelievable!
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Hi Ricky, I've been busy with other things right now, but doing these are fun, but I live in very cold Canada, and need to have an open window to do this, otherwise, the incense is too strong, so need to wait for warmer weather! Thanks for stopping by!
Monte Arnold
Such a cool shot Maggie! Wow, you're really good with a vape pen! 😂😅😉👍
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Hi Monte! Actually, I don't vape and this was done with incense sticks. I wonder though, maybe a vape pen would not be as smelly; as this sure is. I usually do one or two smoke shoots a year. And you just never know what you will get! :-) Maggie
Dominique Amendola
Amazing effects with smoke! LF
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Thank you Dominique. They are so much fun to do. I wanted to do some today, actually but it's quite chilly out and I need to have a window open. In the next few days though, hopefully. Thank you for your comment :-) Maggie
