Very neat photo Maggie. It tells me I’m running out of time and that I’d better get things done soon. Fav

Maggie Terlecki replied:

Thank you Gary. Yes, time is ticking away for all of us. It shouldn't be scary, but just a reminder to do the things you love, and tell the people you love how you feel. :-) Maggie

Hi Maggie--so thoughtful to mention me in your inspiring description. Lovely thoughts for all of to ponder. Yes- time is relentless and must be used wisely. Gorgeous rendering for the entire concept. You are a dear sweet person. FAVORITE!

Maggie Terlecki replied:

You know Reynold, when I knew you lost your wife, I knew you were going through a good amount of pain as I knew how I was taking my brother's passing. I knew that you would understand this image. Hugs to you, my friend. Take care, Maggie

A powerful image....especially for we senior artists. No wonder I post so much....I feel a race with the clock! Thanks, Maggie. I'm sending you big hugs and prayers for your loss. We all need to love every day we have!

Maggie Terlecki replied:

Thank you, Nancy. These last few couple of years have been a huge eye opener for me. I didn't really think about it too much until my bro got sick and how compressed time and what he wanted to do was. Also being sick meant, certain things he would have liked to cram into that little time were not impossible because he was too weak and it was too dangerous to his health. When his time came, I could tell he was not ready and he was still pretty scared. Now I think about it a lot. Thank you for the hugs and good thoughts! :-) Maggie

Artist's Description

Mortality by Maggie Terlecki

I did this image a while ago, but had not uploaded it. I've been thinking of it though, as my brother passed away this January from cancer So young, too young, much too young to die. He was a brilliant man but his life was taken away. Something he could not stop or change.

I also have an artist friend here on FAA, Reynold Jay, who lost his wife this year also. So sad.

Just goes to show that time is ticking away. It will do this for all of us, but sadly, faster for some than others. I think this image is a good reminder of that. That we should follow our dreams today and not think that we'll do it when we retire etc., Who knows if you will be able to. Need to tell someone you love them? Do it now. Remember the old adage - Don't put off until tomorrow that which you can do today. - Quite true in fact. All those wonderful things that will make your life and the people you have around you happy - do that. Love art. Do it. Love tra...

About Maggie Terlecki

Maggie Terlecki

I'm a photographer from a small town in Quebec, Canada and I do mostly Still Life compositions and Urban Vignettes. I take pictures of things I feel a connection to, a way of sharing my feelings, my world, and my place in it. My approach to photography is essentially the same as how an author uses words to write a story. Hopefully, youll find my voice and vision within my work. I also do digital painting - mostly fantastical creatures like fairies.
