Ode to Allium by Maggie Terlecki
Last fall I bought a few bulbs to plant in my yard to see how they would fare. Obviously, I didn't foresee a pandemic and that the selection that I would usually be able to find at the grocery store were not available, so at the moment, I have only a few things actually blooming. One of these is his ornamental allium. It's basically an ornamental version of Garlic. It's beautiful and deserves to be adored! :-) maggie

I'm a photographer from a small town in Quebec, Canada and I do mostly Still Life compositions and Urban Vignettes. I take pictures of things I feel a connection to, a way of sharing my feelings, my world, and my place in it. My approach to photography is essentially the same as how an author uses words to write a story. Hopefully, you’ll find my voice and vision within my work. I also do digital painting - mostly fantastical creatures like fairies.

Beautiful! I had an onion plant in my vegetable garden go to flower and then seed once. It was a very similar flower, but I think, from memory, it was more lilac in colour. L/F
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Hi Linda. This is quite similar. I know onion flowers are magenta and quite small. The decorative garlic plants (of which the onion are also part of) come in colors from pink, to dark purple and all across the spectrum. Mine (first time planting) were about 2 feet tall but I've seen people with huge ones that were about 4 feet tall and huge gloves on the top. Im glad you like it. Thank you! :-) Maggie
