Ode de Granny Smith by Maggie Terlecki
I really like Granny Smith apples. They are sweet but have a sour edge that I like as it makes my mouth salivate. They also are very juicy. I like them raw but I also make pies with them as they just have that bit of bite that with a bit of cinnamon just brings the pie to this heavenly place. Okay, let's just say, I make a mean pie! :-D There are other apples that cross the threshold of my home: Macintosh, for example, but Granny Smith apples have always been my favorite.
Oddly enough, this composition can about by happenstance. I was doing a shoot with the apples and at the end of the shoot, I was moving my items around and found that I really thought the composition was complex yet elegant and I liked it a lot. So there you go! :-)
