The Treasure Box by Maggie Terlecki
Several years ago I wrote the following poem and did a recording of me reading it, but have wanted to illustrate it and finally I have. The image has little context to give it meaning if you do not read the poem, so I will add the recording and the words for those who would like to follow along.

The Treasure Box by Maggie Terlecki
A maiden through the garden ran
to hide her broken heart;
she ripped it from her aching chest
the pain so strong
she could not rest
and underneath the rosewood tree
she bent down on one knee.
With trembling hands
she held it close
one last time, did she,
then put it in a treasure box
and threw away the key.

I'm a photographer from a small town in Quebec, Canada and I do mostly Still Life compositions and Urban Vignettes. I take pictures of things I feel a connection to, a way of sharing my feelings, my world, and my place in it. My approach to photography is essentially the same as how an author uses words to write a story. Hopefully, youll find my voice and vision within my work. I also do digital painting - mostly fantastical creatures like fairies.
